The scientific journal Russia and the Pacific has been published since October 1992. Its founders are the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East FEB RAS.
The editor-in-Chief is Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, D.Sc. Professor Victor Larin.
The journal focuses on history, archaeology, ethnography, culture, politics and international relations in the Russian Far East and the bordering countries of the Asia-Pacific Region. The journal aims to bring together the scholars on the most important issues of the past and the present of this dynamic part of the world.
The journal is for professional scholars, experts, academic staff and state employees.
Russia and the Pacific is a scholarly publication which encourages the results of research from the scholars of the Far East and other regions of Russia writing a PhD dissertation in 07.00.00 “Historical Studies and Archaeology”.
The journal is published four times a year.
This journal is included in the list of peer-reviewed journals. The main results of doctoral and post-doctoral dissertations approved by the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles should be reported.
All manuscripts undergo an obligatory peer review. The manuscripts will be published after the peer review in order of precedence. Full guidelines for authors are available on the website in the sections Information for Authors and Ethical Standards. The manuscript publication is free of charge.
The journal has an International Standard Serial Number – ISSN 1026-8804 and a registration certificate of the Ministry of Press, Broadcasting and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation – PI 20-0039 of June 20, 2000.
